The Spanish FR8 Mauser is a military rifle that was produced in Spain and used by the Spanish army. It was developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a replacement for the older Spanish Mauser rifles. The FR8 was based on the Mauser Model 98 action and chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge.
The FR8 has a relatively short barrel length of just 17 inches, which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces but somewhat less accurate at longer ranges. It also features a unique modified stock that is shorter and more compact than the standard Mauser stock.
The FR8 was produced in relatively small numbers and was mainly used by the Spanish military and some police forces. It is not considered to be a highly collectible or sought-after rifle by most collectors, although it does have some historical value as a product of the Spanish arms industry.
